Blizzard Entertainment Union
Negotiations Update

In December 2022, 14 QA testers at Blizzard Entertainment in Albany, New York voted to be represented by the Communications Workers of America (CWA). The National Labor Relations Board finalized the election results on December 14, 2022. The parties started the process of collective bargaining on May 30, 2023.

Collective bargaining is a process by which an employer and a union negotiate in an attempt to reach a contract covering the terms and conditions of employment for the group of employees represented by the union. That group of employees is known as the “bargaining unit.” The contract that results from the negotiations is sometimes called a “collective bargaining agreement.”

This is an overview of what has happened at the bargaining table, the views exchanged by the parties, and our opinion of the state of negotiations.
